I Will Send Buhari Back To Daura, Says Northern PDP Presidential Aspirant.
Yusuf Datti Baba-AhmedPhoto Credited to: PREMIUM TIMES |
Baba-Ahmed, in a statement, issued in response to President Buhari’s declaration for second term tenure said with the currents situation in the country, it will not be too difficult for him to dislodge Buhari from the presidential villa in 2019.
“Absolutely, he will not have it easy. Do not forget that President Buhari had contested three elections and lost until a certain action by the PDP made many members to exit the party and go to the APC, and made him to win. APC is practically PDP. Even Buhari’s best, his very best, he won by only 2.5 million. Now, he is in about his worst, with the economy on its knees, the insecurity, the herdsmen issue that he has not attended to, the educational system and millions of jobs lost, while the people’s awareness is on the increase,” Baba Ahmed said.
He dismissed the argument that the incumbency factor may work against him, arguing that he will be contesting against Buhari on the same Electoral Act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Muhammadu Buhari is welcome to contest for the Presidency in 2019 and I think it is a healthy practice to have a gentleman of his age, his mold, and people who have been in power for the past 50 years contest. But as for popularity, it is highly arguable. I think the support of many Nigerians has been taken for granted.
“And I think the average Nigerian has now become more intelligent politically and more aware. That political awareness is what I think leaders who have been in power and think automatically that without people making recourse, they will just endorse them and support them. That is the awareness that they are taking for granted. What I have learned in my few years in life is that never take people for granted."

How on Earth Did an Iraqi Manage to Win a US Lottery?
How on Earth Did an Iraqi Manage to Win a US Lottery?
One man’s amazing road to wealth… In the spring of 2015 M. opened an online lottery account from his home in Iraq – three months on he’d won a lottery jackpot of $6.4 million in the US! Loads of people all over the world are now following into the footsteps of the famous man from Baghdad and have started playing international top lotteries like the upcoming $89 million US Powerball online!
Driving in Baghdad, He Got a Phone Call that Changed his Life.
"Are you sure? Are you sure?!" -- M., a 37-year-old father from Baghdad in Iraq, kept repeating the question when he got the phone call with the news he had won the $6.4 million jackpot in the Oregon Megabucks on 24 August.
M. had only started playing lotteries in the US and Europe through theLotter three months before he won. "It was a shock. At first, I thought it was a joke. I was driving in my car, I was going to the bank… so I get a call from theLotter, from a great person called Christine, and she told me the great news, so I was in shock! I suspected I’d won something, but had no idea it was the jackpot."
Jackpot Winner Fears for his Life, Pleads for his Name Not to Be Revealed
After careful preparation in the autumn, M. flew to Oregon to claim his millions in December. He requested that theLotter and the Oregon lottery keep his name confidential because of safety concerns. "The situation in Iraq is not good. It's very dangerous. If my name were revealed, it would be a big problem."
Oregon Lottery director Jack Roberts agreed to the unusual request. "The personal safety risk that he and his family might face seems stronger than the public interest of knowing who the person is," Roberts told local media. "I don't want to read that somebody has been kidnapped or killed because we announce them as a Megabucks winner."
How Can a Foreigner Play the Lottery in the United States?
So how did he do it? How did M. participate in a US lottery from Iraq?
M. played US lotteries online through theLotter, a worldwide messenger service that was established in 2002. Through theLotter people can request somebody to physically purchase lottery tickets on their behalf, even when they are outside of the country or state where the lottery takes place. theLotter doesn’t operate lotteries, but its local reps in more than 20 countries across the world purchase official paper tickets and make a scanned copy available to online players' secure personal accounts. theLotter enables people to play the Mega Millions, play the US Powerball and play the EuroMillions lotteries and a host of other draws from anywhere in the world.
Is it Legal to Play the Lottery Online?
I. Nelson Rose, the eminent professor of law at the Whittier Law School in California, said in the New York Times article about the Iraqi lottery winner that theLotter’s method of providing official lottery tickets to online participants is “100 percent legal”. The Oregon Lottery officials confirmed it: their exact words were that “the system is ingenious”. The method is allowed, because theLotter’s clients do not actually play online… They merely request that the service’s reps physically go out to buy official paper tickets on their behalf.
M.’s future, and the future of his children, looks bright. Whilst he had a hard time believing it was real when he first signed up in the spring, after his win he said that “theLotter was trustworthy and the real deal as everyone on staff was so helpful in getting the prize claimed”.
Asked if he was going to continue to buy lottery tickets: "I'm going to continue to play every day!"

The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG), a strategic support platform for President Muhammadu Buhari, has called for the arrest and interrogation activist, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, Convener, Concerned Nigerians, for alleged sedition.
The BMSG alleged that the offence was committed by Mr. Adeyanju wheb he featured on Sunrise Daily, a current affairs programme on Channels TV, on Tuesday.
The BMSG, in a statement signed by Messrs. Austin Braimoh and Cassidy Madueke, Chairman and Secretary respectively, claimed that Mr. Adeyanju said President Buhari was immediately taken to a hospital after he landed in the United Kingdom. The group said such statements are capable of inciting unrest in the country.
“Deji Adeyanju is notorious for his mischief and falsehood. He does this deliberately to incite the public. He is also known for his media consultancy with the Islamic Movement of Nigeria on whose platform he has called for civil unrest across the country against the government.
“He has also taken to the social media several times to make completely false statements against the government, most times implicitly calling for anarchy,” said BMSG.
The group called on all security agencies to quickly compel Mr. Adeyanju to provide evidence in support of his numerous inciting claims. It equally stated that people like Mr Adeyanju are responsible for disharmony in the country. BMSG advised members of the public to ignore comments made by Mr Adeyanju, whom it described as an “agent provocateur” and an enemy of the nation.

2019: I Declared Because Nigerians Were Talking Too Much - Buhari Speaks From UK
Buhari in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina said, “I declared before leaving home because Nigerians were talking too much about whether I would run or not. So, I felt I should break the ice.
“We have many things to focus on, like security, agriculture, economy, anti-corruption, and many others. We needed to concentrate on them, and politics should not be a distraction. The majority of Nigerians appreciate what we are doing, and that is why I am re-contesting.”
Whiling reeling out his achievements since he took over the mantle of leadership to his guest, whom he had built a deep friendship in recent times, especially in agriculture, he said that Nigerians with what he had done should be able to feed themselves.
According to him, “We have cut the importation of rice by about 90 percent, saving billions of dollars in the process. People who rushed into petrol money have now gone back to agriculture. Even professionals have gone back to the land. Nigeria should be able to feed itself comfortably soon. I am so pleased.”
On the war against insurgency, he stressed the need for continuous education of the people, “so that they can be free from religious manipulation,” adding that no true religion advocates the hurting or killing of the innocent.
Responding to his guest’s comment on the clashes between herdsmen and farmers in different parts of Nigeria, the President submitted:
“The problem is even older than us. It has always been there, but now made worse by the influx of armed gunmen from the Sahel region into different parts of the West African sub-region. These gunmen were trained and armed by Muammar Gadaffi of Libya. When he was killed, the gunmen escaped with their arms.
“We encountered some of them fighting with Boko Haram. Herdsmen that we used to know carried only sticks and maybe a cutlass to clear the way, but these ones now carry sophisticated weapons. The problem is not religious, but sociological and economic. But we are working on solutions.”
President Buhari lamented that “irresponsible politics” has been brought into the farmers/herders’ crisis, but assured that enduring solutions would be found, and justice done to all concerned.
Commenting on Leah Sharibu, the schoolgirl from Dapchi still being held by insurgents, reportedly because she refused to renounce her Christian faith, the President said that efforts were being made to secure her release, adding that government had decided to keep the efforts to itself.
He said, “We are managing the matter quietly. Making noise would not help. We are collecting as much intelligence as possible, working with the Red Cross and other international organizations. There are too many fraudulent people around, who claim they can do this and that. We won’t deal with them. That was how we got the Dapchi girls back, and the Chibok girls.”
Speaking earlier, Archbishop Welby said it was always a delight to see President Buhari, “whom I have tremendous respect for,” adding: “You have my best wishes on your recent decision. I read your declaration speech. We are neutral as a church, but we will pray for you. Great statesmen are those who run for the good of their country. We will be praying for you.”
The Archbishop presented President Buhari with a copy of his recent book, ‘Reimagining Britain. Foundations for Hope.’

"3 Weeks After Reporting A Much Older Colleague, I Was Fired From My Job" - Lady
A London-based lady on Twitter with the handle @Diamsraven has taken to the micro-blogging platform to narrates how she was fired unjustly at her place of work for reporting a much older coworker for sexual harassment.
According to her, after filling the complaint, she was told something would be done but nothing was done. Rather, she was fired.
Read her tweets below;
"3 weeks ago, I reported a much older co-worker for sexual harassment, was told something was going to be done about it (nothing was done)
Today I got called to the office thinking that we were going to discuss the issue, instead i’ve been fired from my post.
Nothing in that meeting addressed anything I reported. Instead they all of a sudden feel that i’m not “right” for the post
I’m so angry. Not because I lost my job but because it took a lot out of me to report this man. I was scared that I would lose my job but I did it anyways knowing his long history with other female colleagues at our post and their similar complaints which has gone unheard
Have also found out the two female colleagues who had reported him had since left the post with no notice whilst I was away.
I have just been informed (with screenshot conversations where he was laughing at the fact that he was already informed of my firing) that the person I had reported was made aware that I would be fired from my post before I even knew anything about it.
I didn’t have much quarrels with my manager but this is highly unprofessional & just further lets me know that I wasn’t fired because I was not right for the job but because she favours a pervert instead
It is sickening to me how another woman (especially a mother) can literally treat another woman like poo for fighting for women’s rights"

This Lady Was Slapped, Hurt and Robbed on Eko Bridge.
A Nigerian lady identified as Daratayo has taken to her Instagram page to narrate her ordeal on how she was robbed on the Eko Bridge.
According to Dara, she was mercilessly slapped, beaten and injured in the process just because she refused to hand over her properties to the thieves.
She however blamed the Nigerian government for allowing tanker drivers park along the bridge, which consequently caused the traffic gridlock every morning and thereby giving these criminals the liberty to rob commuters without any confrontation.
Read what she wrote below;
"Today, I got robbed on Eko bridge.
Not the beginning of eko bridge, Not the end of eko bridge but RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EKO BRIDGE!
Today I was mercilessly slapped around, harmed and beaten.
Today, a fellow human being beat me up so bad because I refused to give them what I worked so hard for.
Today, a fellow human being derived joy in stripping me of my hard earned money, bag and personal belongings.
Today, a fellow youth looked at me, considered me a prey and broke my glass windows to rob me and went batshit crazy when I won’t drop my phone or car keys.
Thank you my Nigerian government for doing nothing about the menace that these trailers on eko bridge are causing that caused so much traffic at 6.30am which allowed these miscreants to achieve their evil plans
Thank you my Nigerian government for finally making me lose hope in looking forward to a better Nigeria.
And most of all, Thank you Lagos Government and Lagos Police for lying to us about safeguarding this bridge, thereby giving us false hope that we were somehow safe.
And for those thieves, I wish upon you Zechariah 5:3, Galatians 6:7 and most of all Proverbs 3:33!! Amen! #Lagos"

7 Reasons Why 2018 Will Be Tougher For Some Nigerians.
On paper and other media houses, it is said that Nigeria is officially out of recession. but if you try to confirm this from ordinary people in the street of Nigeria, they will all tell you that Nigeria is being hit by a recession that is characterized by high inflation and limited sources of income.
While the recession is just a fairy tale to some, I mean they do not believe it exist, others can see and feel it. They can see it when they look at the mirror and see how unpleasing their physical appearance has become due to malnutrition, they can feel it when it is time for launch and no means to provide it.
State governments are unable to meet up with the minimum wage of N18,000 and companies are now competing on the number of people they have sacked. This rat race is living Nigerians with no other option other than to look outside the box..
The most unfortunate part is that Nigerians are looking in the wrong direction. Yes it is true that online businesses can liberate and free Nigerians from the woes of this recession and it is true that the kind of things Nigerians want to do online will make them loose more money than they earn.
Below Are 7 Categories Of Nigerians That Will Not Love 2018
1. Those That Want To Earn Through Ponzi schemes, crypto currencies or Hyip
If you look at the Nigerian online world, it is filled with ponzy schemes, hyips, crypto currencies etc. yes it is true that these programs can make you peanut but I guarantee you that in the long run you will lose more money than you earned. I said you will earn peanuts because the main money is for the owners of the programs.
the similarity between all these online earning methods is that in most cases 1% or less of the population earns 99% or more of the earnings. and that 1% earners are mostly the owners of the programs.
2. Fixed salary earners
The price of everything you can think of in Nigeria has increased, I mean everything including Oxygen. If you doubt me ask for oxygen price in hospitals. If you have a fixed salary and you are not diversifying your income in the right direction, 2018 will not be funny for you.
3. Greedy Fellows
You want to invest 100usd and get 30% at the end of the month while you are asleep? Bro there are no Magic trees on the internet. Yes a 100usd can earn one thousand usd while advertising a product or service but if you just want to put it, sleep and wake up after 30days to get 30% bonus then you are on the verge of narrating a heart touching story.
4. Safe Players
All those dudes that always play it safe and reject everything that comes their way instantly, 2018 will not smile at you. It use to be wise to play it safe but this is 2018. I am not advising you to try every crap that comes your way but I am advising you to research thoroughly on something and try it. for example you can start with an online business model that has a lot of known millionairs that are already making serious money from it. example of such business is Affiliate marketing.
5. The Adamant
It is an undeniable fact that different areas of our lives are changing. Our physique is changing, the kind of cars we use are changing, technologies and everything around us is changing but you do not want to change the kind of business or service you render?
the bottom line is that you either change and upgrade both your services and your knowledge from time to time or your customers will upgrade and change you. remember that the only thing that is constant in life is change.
6. The I Know It All
There are a particular set of closed minded people that believe they know everything. Every online business you tell them about they will tell you they know it and it’s a waste of time or something of that nature. The most annoying part is if you ask them how much they have earned online to be able to make such authoritative judgments on different online businesses, you will learn that they have never earned a penny or they are only earning peanuts. If you are the closed minded type, 2018 may not be funny.
7. Those Waiting For The Dream Online Tutor To Spoon Feed Them
Real Online tutors will only give you a definite guideline of what they do. usually it requires an effort from your end to replicate their success. if you are the lazy type that gives up easily then you will miss out of whatever gold mine they hand over to you.
if you happen to be a slow learner, it is just telling you that you require a little more effort. The greatest proof that you can earn a lot of money online is that somebody else is already earning and you know exactly what he is doing.
remember zig zigler"s popular saying that says "If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, you can’t.
In Conclusion:
A wise man once said that you cant be doing same thing and expect a different result. if you are not comfortable with your 2017 earnings, you must be ready to do things differently or you will still have exact same results like the previous year.

Okorocha Reacts To President Buhari's Declaration For Second Term.
Imo State Governor and Chairman of Progressive Governors’ Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration for second term, could be adjudged a patriotic response to the clarion call of Nigerians of goodwill for him to lead the Country for another 4 years.
The governor noted too that, the declaration of the President to go for Second tenure would also go a long way to reduce the noise of the opposition and take care of the idiosyncrasies of certain elements in the system.
The governor said the President has done well to deserve second tenure and remarked that those who had wanted to blackmail him out of going for another term can now find other meaningful things to keep themselves busy.
He expressed optimism that the President would largely garner more votes in 2019 than he had done in 2015 because most Nigerians, including people of the South-East have seen that he meant well for the nation and her Citizenry.
The governor said the APC has no apology to make because it has done wonderfully well considering the magnitude of the rot it met on ground in 2015 and noted that the antenna of the opposition in the Country will finally be lowered when the campaigns begin and the Party will be showing Nigerians its achievements in the States under its control and at the federal level.
The governor said when a Political Party had admitted that the government it ran was a huge failure and then apologized, such scenario goes with restitution and not with reward.
He urged APC members across the nation to close ranks for the Victory of the Party at all levels in 2019.

Fashola Commissions Mobile Power Transformers In Abia
The Federal government on Monday, said the transmission capacities of Umuahia and Aba transmission sub-stations have been upgraded to boost power supply in Abia and environs.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, said this at the inauguration of the 40MVA 132/33KVA mobile power transformer at Umuahia transmission sub-station.
Fashola said the move was part of the Federal Government’s commitment to boosting the socio-economic growth of the country.
He said the growing population and consequent demand for more power supply made it pertinent to increase the volume of power supplied through the sub-stations in Abia.
Fashola noted that increasing the capacity of Umuahia sub-station would improve electricity supply to Umuahia metropolis and its environs as well as some parts of Imo.
His words: “It is no longer news that our power generation has risen to 7000 MW but the distribution capacity still lags 2000 MW behind. That means we need to expand distribution and transmission support system.”
The minister said the new mobile power transformer installed by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) would increase the capacity of the Umuahia transmission sub-station from 80MVA to 120MVA.
According to him, the commissioning of the 60MVA 132/33KVA power transformer in Aba transmission sub-station would also increase the sub-station’s capacity from 147.5MVA to 227.5MVA.
Fashiola said he was in Abia to discover, first hand, the local problems encountered in power supply and to develop solutions.
“Our purpose is to hold the annual monthly meeting with stakeholders to deepen our service to Nigerians with respect to accessing adequate power supply.
“It is also to familiarise ourselves with the power installations and assets that generate, transmit and distribute power in the state,” he said.
In his remarks, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia commended the Federal Government for boosting power supply in Abia.
Ikpeazu said that the actualisation of the socio-economic development of the state and nation at large required a well structured power distribution system.

Northern Elders Council Lambast Buhari Over Reelection Bid
By Baba Negedu, KADUNA
Elders from the northern part of the country took President Muhammadu Buhari to the cleaners over his declaration to seek a second term in office.
They were unanimous that president Muhammadu Buhari has performed woefully and as such his support base across the country has been decimated.
According to the National Chairman of the Northern Elders Council, (NEC) Alhaji Tanko Yakassai the declaration is no news, adding that “I wonder the type of magic that will make Buhari win re-election in 2019”.
He said, “at the height of his popularity the difference between him and Goodluck Jonathan was 2.5 Million votes”, saying he is not likely to win.
Also reacting to the declaration, Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Muhammed said, Buhari is not trustworthy because “I remember during the campaign he promised to do only one tenure”.
He also alleged that Buhari and his supporters are planning to rig the election and plunged the country into turmoil.
According to him, “This announcement is very unfortunate, it is done in very bad fate and I think it will not do the country or the people any good because I believe politicians being what they are and he is nothing now more than a politician should be assessed by what they say.
“That is the only logical way to assess them, by what they say and what they do.
“He (Buhari)said severally during the campaign that he was not going to contest for a second term. He also said he was going to do a number of things. He has failed woefully in any of the things he said he was going to do.
“He put up a cabinet that was a National and international scandal, he brought his relations, friends and cronies to the cabinet, none of whom is performing or has performed during the last three years.
“On the whole, he is the least competent, the least prepared person for the office of the president of this country. But he decided in spite of his non-performance to go in and contest.
“It is now clear to me and I believe to any right thinking Nigerians that his politics is all about himself, his nepotism, his cronyism of friends and relations.
“It is not about National interest because what he did in the last three years had nothing to do with National interest. So I don’t believe that another four years of Buhari post-2019 will do him or the country any good. We are likely to have more of the same and I can’t see him performing.
“It is left for Nigerians to speak their mind and when the time comes, to speak with their vote.
“I believe he is not going to be relying on the votes of Nigerians, I think the intention is to rig the election and throw the country into turmoil much more than the current turmoil of a failed Boko Haram fight, failed fight against corruption, against militants in the Niger Delta and a government that lacks any moral authority. He believes only in feathering the nest of his cronies and relations”.
On his part, Yakassai said, “the declaration is not a surprise to me, I have told you before now that if he said he is not going to contest I will be surprised. So I know he will do it.
“All we are waiting for is to see those that are going to contest against him, then we can now measure them. But certainly, the amount of support he enjoyed before is no longer there.
“What am wondering is that his party people and his supporters are saying he is going to win and am wondering which magic they’re going to perform to make him win. I wonder why they are so sure that he is going to win.
“Definitely his support base is not like it is before, we don’t know what they are preparing for, but don’t forget that the margin between him and Former President Jonathan in2015 was about 2.5Million votes and that was at the height of his popularity. He is not as popular as he used to be. He is not likely to win. His popularity is down now all over the country”.
